Maria-Sofia, or Sofi is a Qualified Mental Health Professional with a background in psychology, massage, 15 years of experience in bodywork and over 20 years of experience in the field of Child and Family Therapy. Currently, Sofi is on a dual track in the Marriage and Family Therapy Graduate program and Medical Family Therapy Certification at Seattle Pacific University.

Sofi is a highly diversified licensed massage therapist. Sofi has practiced for more than 20 years as a mental health professional in Virginia, and has a strong background in human development. Gifted with an especially intuitive touch and strong bodywork training, Sofi couples her knowledge and skills of mindbody work to reverse the somatic responses that often cause pain and discomfort (both physical and emotional) in our bodies. She specializes in Medical Massages incorporating techniques such as Deep Tissue massage, Myofacial releases, Trigger Point releases, Cranio-Sacral releases, Body Positional releases, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), Cupping, IntraOral releases, Mindfulness techniques, Deep Breathing practices, Counterstrain, and Barbara Brennan Energy Healing (BBEH). A born healer, Sofi is a Mind-Body specialist in authentic form.

In the near future I will be offering Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Trauma Care, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Biofeedback.
